It was a pleasure to meet Gary O’Neill from Zink Films on Thursday, 11 June 2015, who gave us a few tips on how to create animation content, including:
– Pre-visual storyboarding
– Character design and animation
– TV commercials development
We also got a sneak peak at their new project – a cartoon for pre-school kids called “Luka Pooka”, which has a lot of elements from Irish folklore. The cartoon is about magical creatures going on fun adventures in the magical world of Tir na Nogue.
Another project in development is a cartoon called “Joey O Toole & Finn McCool”, which is about a modern day kid Joey O Toole who teams up with Ancient Celtic warrior Finn Mc Cool to bring an army of escaped mythical spirits back to their own realm. This particular project has gained interest from International distributors, so you might even see it on one of the children’s cable channels some day!
The evening was concluded by an informal chat with beer and pizza!
We would also like to thank Sean Downey from Refresh Boyne who organized the talk with Gary and made this evening possible!
