What Is CoderDojo?
CoderDojo is a worldwide movement of free, volunteer-led, community-based programming clubs for young people. Anyone aged 7 to 17 can visit a Dojo where they can learn to code, build a website, create an app or a game, and explore technology in an informal, creative, and social environment.
The Mill Enterprise Hub (Drogheda Young Innovators), CoderDojo Drogheda, and Bank of Ireland are looking for 13 to 17 year olds interested in having fun whilst working on a technology–lead project. No previous IT skills are needed, as we have mentors to work with you.
The theme of the new dojo is Digital and we are planning to run a fun and exciting new project relating to payments and payments technology.
This project will have mentors / participants with different skills, including Coding, Project management, Digital communication (graphics, video & social media).
For example, it will take one set of skills to set up a website or app, and then it will take a very different set of skills to generate content (text, graphics, animation & video) and publicise the website or app.
There will be a competition with a cash award next year, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to build technology skills and participate in a substantial project before you leave school!
Please phone Anna at The Mill on 041-9802444, or email email@example.com to confirm your free place, or to ask any questions.
