The Mill and Drogheda’s Rich Industrial and Commercial Past

Mill: A place, factory or foundry where products are manufactured.

Drogheda boasts of a rich industrial & commercial past. Brewing, textiles, footwear, engineering and shipping are all examples of major sectors for employment between 1800 & 1960.

A mill is defined as a factory, place or foundry where products are manufactured. Branding our new centre as ‘The Mill’ is both an expression of respect for Drogheda’s great industrial heritage while at the same time reminding ourselves that we must support and encourage the development and provision of products and services for 21st century society.
